Question : Windows DNS Reverse look up
We have an internan windows 20003 DNS.
i noticed a stange PTR recoreds.
For an example the "forward lookup zones" shows 192.168.1.24 for a PC xp1.abc.com
the "reverse lookup zones" shows 192.168.1.24 for an another PC xp2.abc.com
if i do ping -a 192.168.1.24 then the reply comes as xp2 instead of xp1.
How do i fix this?
Answer : Windows DNS Reverse look up
In the reverse DNS zone configure aging. Right click the Zone and set the number of days for aging.
This will remove old entries.
