Question : Setup Small Office Network?
|
|
I have been asked to try to setup a small office network for our church. Total equipment is four computers and one high-speed printer.
Computers are:
1 - Dell Dimension 8200 Windows XP Professional 2.4GHZ Pent 4 256MB Ram. Network Adapter - GVC Realtek Ethernet 10/100 PCI.
2 - Sony Vaio Windows XP Home Edition 2.02MHZ Pent 4 512MB Ram. Network Adapter - Realtek 8139 Family PCI Fast Ethernet NIC
3 - Quantex Windows 98 Second Edition 466MHZ 63MB Ram. Network Adapter - Realtek 8139(A/B/C/8130) PCI Fast Ethernet NIC
4 - Gateway GP6 Windows 95B Pentiun II 300MHZ 192 MB Ram No Network card installed yet. Have two network cards (see below).
High-Speed Printer - RICOH APFCIO Ap4510.
Network in a box Linksys Model 'FENSK05' with 5-port hub, Lan Bridge software, two network cards, and two RJ45 Cables. Possible problems - Doesn't seem to be support for Windows XP.
Cabeling is ran to four offices with connectors located on the wall for RJ45 cables.
Main objective is to share high-speed printer. I have no network experience. How difficult would this be to setup? What is the best way to setup this network?
