Question : java.lang.illegalargumente<wbr />xception

I'm taking tutorials online about Coldfussion from Lynda.com. The lesson has detailed steps in installing Coldfusion, MySQL, Eclipse and RDS. I have tested the installation 4 times and everytime when I come to the the step of the last install of the entire lesson suite I do a test of Eclipse and I get java.lang.illegalargumentexception error. I know the practice files for the lesson is downloaded and installed properly because I can manipulate the data.in Dreamweaver. Eclipse's Navagator pane displays the begining database excerise to test the connectivity. But the last excerise database is not in the Eclipse's navagator pane. I hope this a simple oversight of a beginning student. Any suggestions?

In the Eclipse's File Exporer pane when I click on the harddrive C, I get    java.lang.illegalagumentexception error message. When I go to RDS Fileviewer I get "contacting server" error message. When I'm in the RDS Dataviewer pane I get "localhosy contacting server" error message.
Any suggestion would be greatly appreciated
