Question : Fonality PBXtra Reviews

Does anyone have any feedback on PBXtra from Fonality?

Answer : Fonality PBXtra Reviews

Yes,

I have worked on a few and removed a few. Depending on what you need the system to do dictates if you should use it or not. If you are looking for an "open system" then I would think using the open source version of Asterisk. "Fonality is Asterisk plus 2 million lines of code".

If you need a basic IP phone system and have a "qualified" installer that is familiar with Fonality it will work for you. Most issue I see with them is lack of components/gathered requirements at cut over.

Which leads me to where I feel Fonality falls down, "installation". Fonality's business focus three years ago was not PBX's, but carrier VoIP services. So from that perspective, they have not been in the PBX industry long at all and lack many skill sets to deal with dynamic site issues. These are the times I had to pull out the system, not because it was a bad system per se, but a very bad install and the client just wanted a fresh start.
