Question : hiding netbios share server name

is there a way to hide the netbios name of a shared resourse i.e instead of a drive mapping looking like d: on \\sharename on server I would like to have d: on \\sharename
I disabled netbios broadcasting on that server but that did not do it

Ahhh... I don't think that is possible. The share must be reached either by IP address or DNS name:
\\IP.ADD.RE.SS\Share or \\DNSname\Share
NetBIOS doesn't have anything to do with the server's DNS name that is shown. Using NetBIOS will allow you to specify other names that can be resolved via WINS (as well as other functions with applications, etc.). The name being specified in the share is the computer's DNS name.
