Question : can not resolve host

I can ping any IP  ie Yahoo.com's IP but I can not ping names ie. yahoo.com. IE will not find any address at all. I can't even goto the router using  IE but can ping it or any computer on the router.

I had the same problem with win98 and this is what I do. I don't know whether you can do it with windows 95, but no harm trying.

Go to START>RUN and type in SFC and click ok. Choose the bottom option, then in the blank, type in one of the 3 following files (you're going to have to do this for all 3) then click start.

winsock.dll
wsock32.dll
rasapi32.dll

The "restore from" location will be your windows 98 cd, or where you have your cab files stored. the save in location should already be filled in correctly. Press next, and follow the screens, agree to whatever it asks. Repeat the procedure for all the files.
