Question : Why doesn't this PC connect to the internet? Limited or no connectivity

I have a Windows XP Pro SP3 laptop at our site that gets the 'limited or no connectivity' message when it wired to the network. Wireless works with no problem. If I put a static ip address in, it works fine. What can I do to get DHCP to work on this laptop? DHCP is not being blocked in the office and there are available ip's to be had. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Here's a little more info: I tried various data ports in the office and I had the user take the laptop home and take out the static ip configuration. The laptop still would not coonect to the internet while hard wired at the office or at home.

Thanking you in advance

Answer : Why doesn't this PC connect to the internet? Limited or no connectivity

Thank you all for your comments. I took out the static addresses on my own PC and I started to experience the same issue. I wish I would have done that earlier and I would have know that the problem wasn't just the laptop. I had my boss do the same thing and he started experience the same problem also. To make a long story short, I spoke to our guy again who manages our SonicWall and after checking it again he added another group of ip's for dhcp. Everything started working again. Initially, he checked it and it showed that there was still an available ip addresses which made us think that wasn't the problem. Thank you all for your input. I appreciate it.
