Question : Can't see Personal Network Drive on VPN Connection

Hello,

I finally got my VPN connection to work.  I can see all my office network drives with the exception of my personal drive.  Why is this?  What do I need to do?

I'm using Windows XP on the client and Windows 2000 on the server.

Thanks in advance for your help!

Answer : Can't see Personal Network Drive on VPN Connection

Gotcha...."profiles" are run during the actual CTRL-ALT-DEL login.

If you want them to have that drive mapping for their home drive:

1)  They will connect to the VPN at the CTRL-ALT-DEL screen, but checking the box "logon using dial up networking".  Then they select the VPN connection, and it will connect to the VPN before actually logging them on...that way it's just like being at the office.

Other than that, you can do something like a login script that maps that drive for them persistently so that it keeps trying to map it everytime they login regardless.  However, they'll get the nice "Network drive cannot be mapped at this time, do you want to see this message in the future?" notice at each login if they aren't on the network.

Or you can create a "mapped drives" batch file that they can run from their desktop that will map the drives after VPN connection.
