Question : Having trouble getting Linksys PSUS4 print server to work consistently
|
|
I have installed and used two Linksys PSUS4 print servers in a small network (8 PCs running peer to peer under WinXP Pro). One of the PSUS4s always works great, hooked up to a HP d125xi. The other operates intermittently, hooked up to a Canon S9000. Yesterday for example it printed out 15-20 pages on various jobs, then for some unknown reason started having the jobs back up in the print queue. Usually deleting them and starting over would work, but in this instance could not delete the topmost job. Yes, I found the print spooler and restarted it, then refreshed the printer and the job was gone. But then the printer would not even do a test page. What is wrong here? thanks, Waring Abbott ps by the way, using the Linksys utility everything shows up as listed and is supposed to be in fine shape.

>>but do you think I ought to change that to a fixed address as well? Say .176, just in case? << Yes
>>ps any advice on becoming better informed in this subject area would be very much appreciated. I would like to actually understand it instead of just following instructions<< Google is a good place to start
Glad you got it working.
