Question : Network Printing Problem (2 printers for 1 print device)

I have a Canon iR2016 printer in our Brisbane office. I installed it locally on the print server and shared it, and used the UFR2 Printer Driver which I was told to use by Canon tech. The printer worked fine, until trying to use it in SAP (business software), when I found out that it needs a PCL driver to work for that application. So I installed another printer on the server the same way as the first one, but using a PCL5e/PCL5c printer driver. When I tried to print a test page, it looked like it worked, as the print job went into the spool, and completed. But the guy in Brisbane said nothing printed. Any ideas?

Answer : Network Printing Problem (2 printers for 1 print device)

I note in the spec. for that printer it says "Optional PostScript' and PCL emulations are available to maximise printing output"..... so perhaps it doesn't have the option installed or configured to allow that emulation?  Might be worth telnet or http:// to the printer IP and take a look at it's capabilities.
