Question : Beginning with Websphere
I am an old RPG programmer turned Cold Fusion programmer. My AS400 systems guy just told me we have Websphere installed on the AS400 now. I have no idea where to begin. Can someone tell me how to get started working my way through this product? Are there any books that could help me with the ABC's? Please advise
Answer : Beginning with Websphere
What are you planning to do with WebSphere - I'm assuming you're talking about WebSphere Application Server.
If you plan to do development, start with WebSphere Studio Application Developer (WSAD). WSAD provides an integrated development environment and a WAS test environment. Developing a J2EE application without such a tool (i.e. only a text editor/ compiler) is not realistic.
