Question : Graphical Network Mapping

i'm looking for a peice of freeware that will provide me with a graphical representation of the network in the school where i work.  there are approx 500 end stations a few routers and several switches( the switches are mostly 3com ranging fro 3300's to 4900) also i would like to get hold of more software that would tell me which port on the switches goes to where ie end station or switch or router.

Ive never seen freeware to do this, in fact the only payware software Ive seen that can do this is Fluke Network Inspector which can export drawings to Visio
