Question : Linksys PSUS4 Print Server and HP LaserJet 1020 printer - compatibility issue.

I have been able to configure and access a Linksys PSUS4 print server on a network, but when I connect a HP Laserjet 1020 to it via USB, it disappears from the network. I have tried using different makes and models of printers and they seem to work fine with this print server. Is anyone aware of any compatibility issues with these two units and also any fixes or workarounds. Thanks

Turns out that there are a handful of printers emerging onto the market that won't work properly with a print server. HP's answer to this issue was that the printer is a 'host based printer' not designed for use with a print server. We ended up trying two different types of print server before getting this far. Eventually we had to concede and buy a new printer with internal NIC for the client.
