Question : Configure active/passive iis servers on an arrowpoint or cisco css
|
|
I have a cisco css 11500 and an old arrowpoint in production. I need to configure an IIS farm with 2 nodes as active/passive. We have done this with a bigip via setting a higher priority on one node. However, there does not seem to be an equivalent in the css.
Does anyone know how to do this in the cisco load balancer?????? (Yes, I know this is a bit odd as it defeats the purpose of using the load balancer) The powers that be would like to migrate to an active passive design and so far I only see maybe using the weight variable for the css to accomplish this.
I have the config manual but cant find anything??
Thanks for any help

... and the way I read it is the way it works. If the main service fails, incoming requests are directed to the sorry service. If the main service comes back up then any existing connections with the sorry service stay with the sorry service but new incoming requests go to the main service. The sorry server connections should then normally disappear when browser windows are closed or after 5 minutes idle time. The only manual intervention is if you wish to force them.
