Question : Change the Windows 2003 NTBackup catalog directory
|
|
Hi -
Can anyone tell me how to change the directory where The Windows 2003 sever saves the NTBackup catalog files? By default, our server is saving the catalog files to C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Microsoft\Windows NT\NTBackup\catalogs51 directory. I would like to change the path where the catalogs files are stored to E:\NTBackupcatalogs. Lastly, can anyone tell me if we need to keep these catalog files?
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

No, you shouldn't need the catalog files at all. Even if you took the .bkf file to a pc that has never even used ntbackup you could just go to the restore tab, right click on file, click catalog, then select the .bkf and it would generate a brand new catalog file for you to restore with.
