Question : VPN access BUT cannot use Remote Desktop Connection to connect to my computer at Work
|
|
I installed the Cisco VPN client at home onto both my XP machines. I can connect to the VPN but am unable to then do an RDP to my computer or anyone's computer at work.
I have set this up for my co-workers at their homes and they have had no problem using the RDP to use their computers at the work office. All of them had either their home computer connected directly to a cable modem or a dsl modem.
However, the only difference with me is that I have a Linksys Router hooked up to my DSL Modem. I believe when I tried pinging the computer at work I could not get a reply (and cannot remotely connect using RDP as well). Also, I am positvie my work computer is checked to 'Allow users to connect to my computer (RDP)'
Is there some kind of settings I need to change within my router or any help would be much appreciated. THANKS!

Also, a secondary comment to this... speaking of the IP addressing piece to the last question. What internal ip addressing scheme are you using on your home network 192.168.1.x?
what about at work? they don't conflict do they?
