Question : Layer 2/ Base layer 3 Switches Connected Cascade

In a campus network some switches(Layer 2/ Base layer 3 foundry switch) connected as cascade(uplink port from one to from next). In the end of chain, switch connected directly to first switch and create a loop(through a Gbit port )for backup patch.
An Ip Address from 10.4.x.x subnet is assigned to each switch.
The first switch connect to a Core Switch through a Gigabit Ethenet link.
This subnet repeated for 4, and each of them connect to a Core Switch through a Gigabit Ethenet link.
How can I configure these switch(in layer 2 or Base Layer 3) for control traffics, with pay attention to backup patch.
