Question : Slow network printing
Dear All,
We centralised print serving on a new Windows 2003 machine, which is also our Domain controller and Exchange server. We have about 15 users.
The problem we experience is that the print server seems to have troubles sending the print jobs through to our networked printers.
I tested:
* Standard TCP/IP port
- LPR printing
- RAW 9100 printing
* LPR port
And changing the settings "start printing after last page is spooled", "start printing immediately", "print directly to printer", but nothing seemed to improve the situation.
Printers are:
- Xerox Work Center Pro 255
- Xerox Work Center Pro 232
- Xerox 4595
Any clues?
best regards,
Nicolas
Answer : Slow network printing
nope!
I did install the Xerox TCP/IP Port monitor (for Windows NT and 2000) and actually things have improved a lot...
But still, something must be different, because installing the (old) Xerox TCP/IP port monitor is not "by the book" :)
