Question : Recommended to disable Windows Firewall if behind router?

Do I need to use Windows Firewall even though my router acts like a hardware firewall?

Spec:
XP SP2
Linksys AG241 modem/router

Lets say that by chance another device is on or gets onto your network and becomes compromised, if it relies on exploits that said firewall would block and it is disabled your machine may very well be damaged immediatly.  additionally if your router ever becomes compromised you will probably have no firewall protection.

There is no good reason to turn it off, it is basically another layer of medicor protection provided by/for  Windows
