Question : Configuring Microsoft Windows Network on XP Pro

I have 2 icons in my Microsoft Windows Network and I only need 1. How come I cannot delete a Network? How do I just get back to having only one show up on this screen? I cannot figure out how to delete either.

Answer : Configuring Microsoft Windows Network on XP Pro

1) Go to Control Panel ->System and Computer Name
2) Note: The name next to Workgroup
3) Go to My Network Places and look at the two icons showing workgroups, one of them is your one.
4) Go back to Control Panel -> System and Computer name
5) Click Change and Change the Workgroup name to the name of the other workgroup
6) Reboot

Now you should only show one workgroup under Network Places
