Question : Cannot map a network drive
Hi,
This is the environment:
Desktop Vista 64 (computer name = Daddy) (hardwired to the U-Verse Residential Gateway (RG))
Windows XP Pro Wireless
Windows XP Home Wireless
All 3 systems in same workgroup
All 3 systems are identified by RG
All 3 systems can access the Internet
XP Pro can access the shared files sitting on Desktop Vista 64
XP HOME CAN NOT ACCESS THE SHARED FILES ON DESKTOP VISTA 64.
I tried (from the XP Home system) to map the network drive:
Window Explorer > Tools > Map Network Drive
In the file box, I put \\Daddy\XP_n_Vista_Documen
ts_On_G
Received error message:
"The mapped network drive could not be created because the following error has occured:
The network location could not be reached. For information about network troubleshooting see help"
I am pretty technicle (albiet not networking), and this on is stumping me.
Need some good help here. Thanks in advance,
Bob
