Question : Users connected via SMTP / Email spoofing / Spam issue
|
|
Hello all,
Ok, in ESM, under SMTP Virtual Server. I am seeing random users connected in my Current Sessions. How are they connecting? What are they doing? How do I prevent this?
We are recieving email from contacts in our address books. Like "[email protected]"? How is this possible? How can I prevent it? Right now I simply filtered the address.
Lastly, our queues are backing up extremely fast. I looked at them, and majority of the emails are "Failure Delivery" notices from our postmaster, trying to send to some bogus address.
Your thoughts?
Thank you
(I would offer more points, but I am down to 100)

I would go to odbc.org and just have them run a scan on the IP address of your exchange server just to verify there is no open relays on your system. They will try just about any way to relay through your system and then e-mail you telling you if you are good to go or not
There are viruses out there that can open other ports to allow relaying so I check in to that site about every three months just to make sure that I am secure.
