Question : DHCP options in Windows Server 2003 - Diskless clients
|
|
Hello,
We have currently upgraded to Windows 2003 and AD 2.0 in our environment. After upgrading the Domain controllers we found that hte DHCP option for FTP locations was missing. We have configuration files for our diskless workstations sitting on these ftp servers and now, since the upgrade, we have had to set these workstations up manually b/c they are not ftp'ing their configuration down. Obviousely, I would like to go back to the way things were being done but, can't go back on 2003 as it is too integrated into the rest of the environment. Any suggestions on another way to do this? Am I missing something in the options?

Have you checked the boot server host name and/or bootfile name? (options 066 and 067)
Also make sure DNS is configured so they can resolve the host name (option 006)
