Question : External access to network share without VPN

I saw at another company that it was possible to externaly connect to a network share without having to connect with the network first via vpn. Can anyone tell me how to do this on a sbs 2003 server. Is this via ftp or something?

Answer : External access to network share without VPN

You are correct.  This can be done through FTP.  You will have to setup your server to act as an FTP server.

You will also need to do change your routing so that this server is on a DMZ accessible from outside your firewall (port forwading etc..)

Once this is done you can go to the the URL you specify and navigate to folders you specify.
