Question : IP address conflict
I am on a system with several hundred users. All are set to DHCP as far as I know. I accessed the system with no problem a few days ago, but suddenly the "IP conflict" error message occurred. I have tried CMD > IPCONFIG/RELEASE > IPCONFIG/RENEW but this resets to the same address each time and within a few moments the same error message repeats.

Mac stands here for Mac address (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MAC_address ) - it is not a type of computer... You should change your MAC-adress on Your PC with the settings of network adapter in the control panel. You can browse your current Mac-Adress by running "cmd" and typing ipconfig /all - there will be a string something like Physical adress : 05-2D-61-04-F6-A1 - THIS is your current MAC-address and you should change it to something different in the control panel->Devices Manager->YOUR Network Card->Additional Tab->Network Address-> type someting like "011231414141" in the field - and see what will happen! =)))
