Question : SPAM Release - GMAIL

While migrating from Exchange 2000 to Exchange 2003 relay was accidently left open.  Relay has since been closed and we have been removed from all blacklists, however we still cannot send messages to any Gmail accounts.  Any attempt returns the following message:

Your message did not reach some or all of the intended recipients.

I have followed all of Googles recommendations to rectify the situation and upon filling out their questionnaire it simply says wait and message flow will resume.  It has been close to three weeks and I am still not able to send messages.

Answer : SPAM Release - GMAIL

Hi CecilAdmin,

Well your SMTP Server was acting as an "Open Relay".

My suggestion would be (will get into effect within 24 hrs)

Else these are things you do::::

  • Find out which RBL are you listed on. Once you find that you will find on their website how to request for unblocking.::: http://www.mxtoolbox.com  & http://www.dnsstuff.com
  • You are on GMAIL BlockList, contact GMAIL again to remove you from that list. Since you have already done that it will take some time. Google guys get 1000s such requests everyday

Hope this helps. Do let me know if you need further help
