Question : Switching Cat5 to Cat5e patchpanel

I want to take my old cat 5 patch panel and terminate the ends to a new patch 5e patch panel Is this doable and will I see a performance gain in my network bandwidth?

It depends.

If you are just replacing the patch panel AND you DON'T have gigabit switches then the cables don't matter and no, you're not likely to see any increase in performance.

If you have gigabit switches then make sure you have Cat5e or better cables - that INCLUDES cables within the walls.
