Question : Unable to browse a domain
: Hello Experts
My question is as follows ..
I have a Windows Server 2003 with service pack 2 installed that is a domain controller it is also the global catalogue server.
When PC's on the domain try to browse to other computers on the domain they get the following error message "Domain is not accessible ,you might not have permission to use this network resource. The list of servers for this workgroup is not currently available". When i try to browse from the server I get the same error message. I need to get computers to be able to browse the domain again.
It is still possible to connect to computes using \\ if you allready know the computers name.
The DNS settings all seem to be correct ,when I run a netdiag everything passes except a fail on DC list test Failed to enumerate DC's using the browser.[error_no_browser_
servers_fo
und]
I have restarted the browser and server services.
Running a nslookup on the servers ip address comes back with cant find server name for address 192.168.x.x:non existent domain server unknown. I do have a dns entry for this ip address though.
Any assistance will be appreciated..
Thanks
Answer : Unable to browse a domain
Have you made any changes to the server or the domain recently? Are there any error messages in the System event log relating to the browser service not starting?
You might also try rebooting the DC.
