Question : excluding IP address in DHCP sbs 2000

I have sbs 2000 server and I want to reserve some ip address. I was wondering if all I had to do was go to the address pool in DHCP and create a new exclusion range or do I have to restart the service or re authorize the server. I just want to make sure what I exclude gets excluded

Answer : excluding IP address in DHCP sbs 2000

In this case, just create the exclusion area covering whole firewall dynamic ip address range,

In any case, DHCP client makes a ping with any provided address, to make sure nobody else (non-DHCP) is using this ip address.

Again: Just do it, don't care about nothing.
