Question : How do I get a website to work without www?

Not sure how to word this problem correctly, but here goes.  I have a domain abc.com, whose website is hosted offsite.  From outside the domain, I can go to the website www.abc.com and abc.com fine.  However, from inside the domain, only the www.abc.com works.  Without it, I get an under construction page.

What I'm looking for is if there is a way through DNS to get it to point correctly.  And if there isn't what alternatives do I have and how I would go about it?  Much thanks.

Note the "Accepted Solution".  The problem may only be truly fixable by renaming your Active Directory domain.
