Question : distributed multi-forest domain with email

Guys

I need to create a domain that will be spread across multiple sites in different countries.

The head office will be company.com and there will be child domains such as child1.company.com, child1.company.com, etc.

I will need the users to be able to see directory info such as global address list, etc. and I will need email to be delivered.

All users will have an @company.com email address.
Does this mean that I need just one Exchange server or one for each site which will have approriate mail routed, etc.  I have no idea where to start - could you please point me in the right direction.

Thank you,

Joe

Answer : distributed multi-forest domain with email

There are various models available to you, very much depends on your budget, number of users, amount of email, what your technical people are like in the remote sites, your admin model etc etc.

You haven't really provided enough info to make the decisions.

However, as long as there is a single forest you have a single Exchange org and the Exchange servers can see each other, then Exchange deals with the inter-server routing.

There is a lot more to it, but that is a very brief overview.

Simon.
