Question : Cisco VoIP across offices

Hi Experts,

We currently run Cisco Call Manager 4.2 at our site and we need to add another site in Europe which will have calls routed through our site in order to make calls. We have separate VLANs for voice and data. What should we be looking at in terms of setup on our end and ? Currently they have a high speed internet connection. We were thinking of keeping an ASA 5510 there and having a site to site VPN. Would we need a local DHCP server for the IP phones? Would we need to have the same VLANs there as what we have here? What other issues would we be looking at? Please advise.

Thanks.

Answer : Cisco VoIP across offices

Yep. Pretty much that easy. Depending on what you use for the VPN (ASA's are good), you can enable QoS through the VPN.
You'll also want to consider how inbound calls to the "local" European office are handled. Don't want anyone to have to call the US to reach the office down the street and pay international toll charges. You're going to need some kind of voice gateway in Europe, no question about it. The Call Manager can then control both the US and the European gateways and route calls accordingly.
