Question : Distribution Groups audit

Hi,

I have been tasked with auditing our distribution groups. Some of them are definitely old and of no much use, some are equally obscure but still used occasionally.

Is there a way where I can monitor how many emails a given distribution group gets?

I have tried parsing exchange logs with LogParser but couldn;t really find much there (I can't build decent queries).

Please let me know if you have any suggestions.

Best regards
Skielve

Answer : Distribution Groups audit

As an Expert, I have no way of knowing whether you are a trial member or a paying member.  All I see is that you are a "Premium Service Member".  I have not answered your question simply because I do not know of an easy way to accomplish your goal.  If you have message tracking turned on, you can do searches to specific SMTP addresses and get what you are looking for, but it is a totally manual process.  I don't know how to automate it.

When you don't get an answer in a timely fashion, click the "Request Attention" button in your question.  The moderators will repost your questions to the more tenured Experts for further assistance.  Often times, when an Expert sees another already working with you, the question will be disregarded by them, so as to not interfere with each other.
