Question : System policies for stand alone PC - HOW?

How can I set up policies for use on a standalone PC? I want to be able to restrict access to various stuff from my kids, but have my own login have full access.
Can this be done? Paul

You cannot use group policies without an NT domain controller. You might be able to set up a policy restricting nothing on your own account and most everything on everyone else by entering your own user name specifically and using default user for everyone else. In that case, you will need to do this:
Open Local Registry Select Local Computer Select Network\System policies update\Remote update enter Manual mode enter the path to your pol file you can check Display error messages to see if it's working.
If this doesn't work, you must log on as every different user and use open local registry and "Local User" to specify the restrictions for each user. This won't be a very good protection though, as you could just enter a new username to get a unrestricted view. Also, note that anyone can run poledit and change the settings, so you need to remove poledit.exe from your hard drive.
