Question : OpenBSD / Packet Filter / NAT and H.323

Has anyone got H.323 to work securly thru an OpenBSD Firewall running Packet filter and NAT.  I'm the admin of all devices (OpenBSD on a DSL with static IP). It's a Windows box behind the firewall.

Many thanks,

Michael.

Answer : OpenBSD / Packet Filter / NAT and H.323

H.323 is a very very complicated protocol that is extremely NAT unfriendly. You're not going to get this to work

There are some commercial firewalls.

Another option is to use an H.323 proxy such as OpenH323Proxy from http://openh323proxy.sourceforge.net/.

You can also find pretty good explanations of the issues at http://www.cisco.com/warp/public/cc/pd/iosw/ioft/mmcm/tech/h323_wp.htm and http://www.intel.com/support/proshare/h323doc1.htm
