Question : IBM Lenovo Wireless Adapters take longer than normal to activate

I have found this same issue on a couple  of IBM/ Lenovo laptops with inbuilt wireless adapters in them.  It could be a coincidence though.  I find that after the laptop boots to the desktop, it generally takes about another minute for the wireless adapter to activate and then look for the wireless service.  It is happening on two laptops that I have seen.  There is nothing special installed on the alptops only the usualy IBM/Lenovo software as well as one has Norton Antivirus 2009 and the other Symantec Antivirus Corporate edition.  Everything else is normal in MS Office, maybe itunes as well.  They are both connecting to normal home wireless networks.  The wireless services work, but there is a definite lag there between when the computer boots to the desktop and when the wireless actually starts and connects to the network.
Within this time there may also be a "no firewall is turned on" message come up.  But then the firewall is turned on, so I am presuming this is a timing thing between when it looks for the firewall and when it actually activates the windows firewall.
Does anyone know why this would be.
If anyone knows why the wireless is taking longer than usual to connect any info would be appreciated.
Thanks

Answer : IBM Lenovo Wireless Adapters take longer than normal to activate

I have had a Lenovo Sl500 delivered to me today for a client, so I will run some tests on that new set-up and see if I can get the network adapters to slow down on that.

Thanks for your help to date!
