Question : Using Gmail for business emails

http://joomladigger.com/information-and-tutorials/good-business-practices/consolidate-your-email-and-improve-your-professional-image-with-gmail-redirects.html

Ive followed this article here to route my work emails through gmail. All works nicely except I have a couple of questions:

Will this trip off corporate filters because the email originates from a different account than the person in the reply-to field?

What are the implications of sending email this way?

Answer : Using Gmail for business emails

The expert's point above is good but Gmail does provide good headers to try to "prove" it is legit.  Unfortunately headers can be easily and well faked (the big weakness in email) so that isn't 100% but since your gmail account AND corp account appear and a valid reply to email is there the chances are good your email will not be mishandled as spam.

If you find you have problems then you might consider Google's product that allows you to "provide Gmail for your domain."  I believe it is still offered and when I originally read about it the details made it sound even better than the method you have above.  Of course it may not work for just any domain and certainly not any email account.  It doesn't depend on forwarding like the method above but that also means the mail isn't sent "through" a gmail account.  The main page for this product is at http://www.google.com/a/help/intl/en/users/gmail.html .  In the past there was no cost for it but that may have changed.  I just point it out as an option if like Gmail's style and products and want it for your domain's email.  This product was designed for that.
