Question : Block vbs

How can I block all email with an attachment of .vbs, .exe, etc. I want the sender to be sent a message saying that it was rejected. Sendmail version: 8.8.7. thanks

Short of writing your own scanner that could hook in to Sendmail's check_compat faciltiy, the only other thing that I know of capable of filtering email at the SMT server level would be a procmail filter. Fortunately, one has already be created and can be found at ftp://ftp.rubyriver.com/pub/jhardin/antispam/procmail-security.html. It can reject email messages that contain any of a list of attachment types.
