Question : How to check outgoing messages

I have several customers that have indicated they have not received specific emails that I have sent them. It appears that it only effects mail that I send that have attachments (usually pdf documents). It is not all emails that are effected as some documents do get delivered.

I find any time I sneeze near my server I manage to break something so I thought it best to ask rather than poke around myself.

Would someone be so kind as to explain for me

1. How I can check if the emails I am sending from my workstation are actually being sent out by exchange server to the recipient

2. Where I can view any settings that may effect whether these emails are being blocked by some kind of rule.

3. How can I check if any incoming emails are being trashed when being received

Thanks in advance

Regards

David
The workstations are all Windows XP sp3

Answer : How to check outgoing messages

Number 1: If you go to System Manager > Tools > Message Tracking Center you can track message inbound/outbound by adding the necessary info. In your case, the server, and either the sender (your) email address or the Recipients (their) email address. Then click the FIND button.

Number 2: I would look at System manager > Servers > YOUR SERVER NAME > protocols > SMTP > Default SMTP Server. The Access Tab and Delivery tab contain most of the info you need to look at. I would also double check that you are not on any blacklists (just google the term).

Number 3: Same as Number 1
