Question : Configuring a Network printer problem.
|
|
Hello,
I have a customer who has a Konica-Minolta printer. It is hardwired to a wireless hub. I tried installling the printer drivers after running the network setup floppy and it is not recognizing the printer. There is another computer in another room in the house that is hooked into a wireless receiver to the wireless hub and it is recognized. The other computer thati s hardwired to a port on the hub is not. What can I do to correct this issue? I would think since the printer goes directly to the hub. It would recognize. I cannot even get the CD to load the drivers. I downloade them off the internet from the Konica sight and still the same problem. Went to check BIOS settings and everything is enabled like it supposed to. Please help.
Sincerely,
Compucharley

Perhaps the Konica-Minolta has a special setup. Some printer makes just have to do things their own way -- did you get a disk with special drivers or an install that might be needed? There are some drivers on the net, but I don't know if they will help -- http://printers.free-driver-download.com/Minolta/15248/Minolta-C350-Standard-Controller-Printer-TWAIN-Driver-1.0-Windows.html
As long as you set an IP -- and a gateway, the IP number of the DHCP server or router -- in the pritner setup, I have never had a problem setting up network IP printers by IP address. Check the printer settings to make sure they fit within the class C of the network, and outside the DHCP range. When you do the printer setup wizard, it will tell you before you complete the wizard if it found the printer, then ask for a port and a driver setting for this printer. Those two are CRUCIAL -- check Minolta to find out what they should be.
