Question : Wireless network says "Not Connected" even though you are connected.
In wireless networking, if you want to connect to a network, you bring up that screen that lists all the available networks. You choose the one you want and then click the Connect button on the bottom of the screen. Likewise, when you want to disconnect, you select that network and then that same bottom button says Disconnect, which you also click.
Why is it that sometimes when you connect to a wireless network, on that network it will say Not Connected, but if that network is selected, the bottom button will say Disconnect, indicating that you are, indeed, connected to that network?
Why does it sometimes do that (why does it indiicate that you are connected and not connected at the same time)?
Answer : Wireless network says "Not Connected" even though you are connected.
Generally what I have done in the past to fix this is ...
Get the latest Drivers from Wireless NIC's MFG's Site
Uninstall the Device from Device Manager
Restart
Reinstall Device with latest Drivers
Restart
This will generally fix this issue.
