Question : cannot find z:vvinesd.386 file

When i log on to a desktop in my office, i'm getting the message that it cannot find the file or device Z:vvinesd.386 and it is stopping the boot process.  Says the register or system.ini file refers to this device file, buty the device file no longer exists.  i can hit any key and then it continues to load windows, but sometimes it boots straight into safe mode....i would like to know how to fix this problem and allow this Windows 98 computer to boot normally.

Thanks,

Greg
