Question : How to set up multiple domain hosting
|
|
Hi, I just have a little question. We are just starting a hosting service, with for starters one Windows 2003 Server ...
No we have to configure DNS for using domains for example
today.com tomorrow.com example.com
these zones have to have their own ns servers etc etc you know what I mean
No the question is how to do this using Bind or Windows DNS
And when using Bind someone has an example of the config scripts ???
Regards,
Ronald

All you need to do is create a regular DNS zone actually 3
each one with each domain name that you will use
Create a NAT from you external IP to your internal IP
Make sure that your SOA record points to the external IP address and no to your internal (internal is default)
Make sure that your root DNS (register dns ) point to the external IP address of your server (NS name==>External IP )
I was looking for some examples but i did not find any good one
is straight forward
here is how to create a new Zone http://support.microsoft.com/kb/308201
basically you will have to do this for every domain that you want to host just remember that (How to Add a Name Server) step you need to use the external IP addres and no the internal one
