Question : How to remove DNS from 2003 AD domain controller

Currently have a 2003 Windows domain controller that I need to demote and remove from service.
I've brought up a 2008 DC running DNS (AD Integrated) and replication of DNS within and across sites appears to be functioning properly. I've modified the DNS entries in the TCP\IP properties on all servers to remove the old DC and added the new DC , and modified my DHCP scope in the same manner,.....all appears to be well.
Before I demote, I'd like to remove DNS services from the old DC, but have not come across any clear, concise documentation on how to properly do this.....
It appears that at least I would need to uninstall the Domain Name Service via Windows Components in Add\Remove Programs, but beyond that I'm not sure.
Thanks in advance for your assistance.

Prior to uninstalling the dns make sure that the server is pointing to the good dns server for preferred dns server.
--Uninstall it from add or remove windows component/domain name service/dns.
--Once that is done on the good dns server follow the steps in the article:
