Question : How To Exclude a Folder from Compact Task
I am having an issue with COMPACT running for over 4 hours on a single very high usage DB the morning after a server restart. I want to run the compact for the containing folder at a different time than my usual compact task that runs daily at 5 AM.
Ho do I exclude the folder from the COMPACT task so that I can run it at a better time? If I can't do this, is running the COMPACT task directly on the folder that contains this DB an effective method of preventing COMPACT from running on the DB and taking this critical DB out of service for the first part of the day?
Generally we run a COMPACT -S 10 as part of the notes.ini ServerTasksAt5 & it is fine for just about every DB but when this DB is hit after the reboot it runs forever.
Thanks for your help
Answer : How To Exclude a Folder from Compact Task
Hi, you can use indirect files to list databases and folders that you want to compact, see here -
