Question : Cannot Modify Site Content

Hi Guys,

I recently migrated a Joomla v1.0.15 site from one Hosting company to another.

Steps

1. Created a user on the existing SQL Database matching the user on the new Hosting company
2. Exported Database through PHPAdmin
3. Backed Up Site Content (Public-Html)
4. Created New Blank Database (Same Name)
5. Imported 'Site' (Backup) Database
6. Imported Site (Public_html)

The Site is up but I cannot modify any of the content using Frontpage Manager..Etc

If I go into the Frontpage manager, the content says 'Checked Out' and when I open the item the fields for editing are not accessible (except for Title & Title alias). If I apply after no Changes are made the content then disappears form the Site.

I have also re-uploaded the Database with no success.

Let me know if there is any other info you require.

Hosting Company: Planet Domain

Thanks in Advance

Answer : Cannot Modify Site Content

Hmm - OK - so the site can be seen and looks normal - you just can't do stuff in  the backend .

If you goto frontpage manamger - you are stuck - have you tried going directly to eth article via content / items drop down (and are all items locked?) .

A possible solution then will be in :
1. checking permissions - usually 0755 for directories (folders) and 0644 for files on the web server
2. I'm assuming you performed the global checkin and have superadministrator access  to the backend of joomla - otherwise this will need to be set in config.php?
3. if all files remain locked - you can directly go to teh database with a client like navicat - havea a look aroudn and probably unlock them there - but  you'd really have to look and see what teh problem was first
