Question : MRxSmb and Server response

I have a Win2k Sp4 client that is frequently getting a file not saved error when saving excel files to a share on a file server - Win2k Server SP4.

The corresponding event in the log of the client is "{Lost Delayed-Write Data} The system was attempting to transfer file data from buffers to \Device\LanmanRedirector. The write operation failed, and only some of the data may have been written to the file."
The user is unable to save the file anywhere else after this occurs. The files are typically 6mb.
I have seen a hot fix from microsoft about this but it is included in SP4, which is already on the client.

There is nothing in the server event log, however I have run a ping -t to the server from a different client PC and have seen the odd ping take 30-40ms and one take 280ms.This may be normal for a file server, I don't know.

Do I have a server or client issue here?

Answer : MRxSmb and Server response

Is MS Office itself fully up to date patch wise?
