Question : Microsoft RPC over IPSEC Cisco ASA

Is there a way to get RPC's accross a Point to Point IPSEC tunnel on  a Cisco ASA 5550 to a Cisco C2800 series router without using GRE?

HouServer-----L3 switch w/sup engine-----ASA5550-----cloud-----C2800----L2 switches-DalServer

Cisco VPN clients that never come to Houston drop off the domain, and we can't re-join them over the client tunnel.  We want to be able to push udpates to these users, and other MSFT functions.  Is there a way to make these functions work?

HouServer-----L3 switch w/sup engine-----ASA5550-----cloud----users

Any help on this issue would be greatly appreciated.  Thank you in advance!

Answer : Microsoft RPC over IPSEC Cisco ASA

We finally just setup a WINS server, enabled "ip forward protocol-ss/ns/dgm", enabled ip multicast routing  and finally put a the WINS server into the DHCP server so the clients would know where to go to get that information.  That allowed the traffic to pass fine.  This is not a recommended design as this also opens up a newsstand of security issues when done on a border device, but it did do the job.
