Question : configuring microsoft loopback adapter for centos VM on VPC2007 - vista host

I have vpc 2007 running on vista and need to configure MS loopback so I can browse files served from a VPC VM running centos/apache

these are the steps I have taken:
1) installed MS loopback adapter on host
2) selected the loopback adapter as the network card for the VPC VM

please see screenshots.

WHen I attempt to browse the webserver running on the centos VM using it's IP address (192.168.1.193) I get ..
"Unable to connect -Firefox can't establish a connection to the server at centos-cf7." error in the browser

I know the webserver is running because if I switch the vm's network card back to my WIFI network then it all works perfectly

what am I doing wrong?

The only wrong thing that you are doing is trying to access cross subnet without a routing process in between. Im not sure what else you have configured but if it is the way it looks like in the screen shots then I'd say it wont work.

You need to assign an IP address to the VM which belongs to the same subnet of your loopback i.e. 192.168.0.xx 255.255.255.0
