Question : DNS event ID 414

DNS event ID 414
I have an external DNS server which is not part of the domain.
in the event log I see a warning event ID 414 source DNS.
"The DNS server machine currently has no DNS domain name. Its DNS name is a single label hostname with no domain"

I wonder if it's something that I should worry about.

Answer : DNS event ID 414

Give it a Primary DNS Suffix (you make make it up if you want) :)

Say it's called "ns1.publicdomain.com", add publicdomain.com as the Primary DNS suffix, it'll be good enough. Pretty much no operational impact in doing that.

You don't need to change the machine name at the same time.
